Hey everyone, i just wanted to let you all know that we now have our meeting schedule up on the Facebook group instead of making an event every time we have a meeting. We also decided that we don’t really need to meet every week anymore so we’ve moved the meetings to every other week. They’re still at the same times, just not as often.
Meeting schedule and times for the rest of the summer:
Monday June 1, 9:30p-11:00p
Sunday June 14, 2p-3:30p
Monday June 29, 9:30p-11:00p
Sunday July 12, 2p-3:30p
Monday July 27, 9:30p-11:00p
Sunday August 9, 2p-3:30p
Monday August 24, 9:30-11:00p
In other news:
The benefit show went really well. We raised $60 for KCAC, which will be used to go towards t-shirts and buttons. The bands were fantastic, and everyone had a great time. If you missed out because of the rain, don’t fret! We have another show coming up at the corner record shop on June 14th with HOMES, Merchant Ships, and another band TBA. We’ve also got various community-building events coming up like a KCAC kickball game, laser tag, dodgeball, and a bubble party! Stay tuned for more.
On behalf of the KCAC, i really appreciate all of your guys’ support. THANKYOU!

Moving Onward!
So there has unquestionably been a lull in KCAC activity over the last several months. However, it is not done by any means, not with all the work and time already invested. At this point it is somewhat of a waiting game – waiting for economic conditions to stabilize so we can capitalize on more available grant funding. The board of directors is still working on securing some startup grant funding and it’s not easy – we need a large amount of cash to realize this dream.
However, in the interim, we have decided to partner with Kalamazoo visual arts superteam The Exquisite Corpse Artist Collective and Gallery, with homebase in the Park Trades Center. We will be using our combined experiences to make their events more widely accessible to those who may not be familiar with the amazing things they do, and in return we can begin to get our name out in the community once again and have a small space occasionally available for use.
As many of you are aware, we have been promoting the Exquisite Corpse’s movie nights – most recently the film Dreams on 1/21 and just a couple weeks ago Manufactured Landscapes on 2/18. I would encourage everyone to become a fan of The Exquisite Corpse on Facebook to follow upcoming events which we will be partnering together.
As always, if you are looking for more information, please contact us at info@kzoocenter.org.
